Lakefront Living History

Once upon a time when we went for a "visit", it mighthave been mid summer right after the Fourth of July. One anticipated the ambiance of lunch on the deck overlooking that exotic Lake Tahoe. Great beach! "Oh, Scott was down last week.
( Does she mean Firzgerald? Of course! He is so funny and raunchy".)

Mary is on site for the summer. Her homemade noodles fried to a crisp in excellent butter; always with fresh lettuce sandwiches. A light lunch so we could go for a swim on the beach below soon. One hour? Says who!

Bridge in the late afternoon; the boys are out playing with their rigging; a big race on Sunday. I hope I have enough clean whites to look smashing. With the bridge came those yummy lobster sandwiches, so petite and moist from sitting in the linen wrappings, soft white bread with no crusts. They were served with crisp carved radishes - looked like a rose garden. Mary was so talented!!

Funny thing looking back; almost everyone had a single bed for themselves. The only "doubling up" was in the master bedroom. they were married.

Dinner parties were the best!! fresh fish from the lake, corn on the cob and the best of company. Everyone was done in from boating activities but a bit of scotch or gin and the place got very lively. Jerome did his fabuous songs on the piano after dinner.

Lush summers! today when we go for a visit we are often expected to pitch in a bit around the house. Mary's kitchen is just the same; refrigerators for many snacks and room for rolling noodles. Tom's old room is still up those narrow stairs. He served at the BIG dinner parties as well as keeping lots of things up to snuff in the house and on the dock.

A Few Definitions

How to know the value?
Short Sale,
Foreclosure,
REO:
They are everywhere today in the real estate market:
distinct categories of homes that are in the process of "changing ownership" due to all the extenuating circustances of NOW.
The Short Sale seller hopes to sell the home before the bank or courts move in. The "short sale" refers to the hope the bank or banks will settle for less than the full amount owed on property.
If this does not yield good results the property will go to auction at foreclosure proceedings. This is what takes place on the courthouse steps of the local county.
At the auction all bidders are welcome as long as CASH comes with them. Among others, there are investors working the market who show up with bundles of cashiers checks to put down toward any winning bid.
As a last resort, the bank owns the property ON THEIR OWN and now the property is an REO:
Real Estate Owned.
This may be the most advantageous position for a buyer. Banks do not want to own the property. They are more highly motivated to negotiated with an appropriate buyer at this time.

Tahoe Condo Within Lakefront Development

An older condo in a very private spot. The pier is shared with a few other residents. The deck is protected giving one access to the outdoors even on those cold and windy days. Condo is within walking distance of Tahoe City for grocery shopping or a pizza on the deck overlooking Lake Tahoe. Wolfdales for fine dining is down the street a few doors.

REO LAKEFRONT

There isn't a lakefront much closer to the water. This home will make you feel you are on your own private yacht about to cross the waters. It is currently owned by a bank, thus the REO title.

Two bedrooms, two bath, and a spacious living room with fireplace right over the lake. A small bit of shoreline can help you launch your kayak or paddle board. Located at the end of a quiet street.

Priced quite a bit under $2,000,000 - most REO properties are subject to negotiation. It is a given the bank does not want to own the property.

CAN YOU IMAGINE?

Everyday is our day for GROSS NATIONAL THANKFULNESS.
We salute this value, our FLAG, and again honor GNH.
GROSS NATIONAL HAPPINESS is a concept originating in the small predominately Buddhist democracy of Bhutan. A democracy by choice, created without violence, the index tracked is GNH.
It is under consideration in Brazil, perhaps Canada. "It is rooted in the Buddhist notion that the ultimate purpose of life is inner-happiness". What a concept. Please click on the link for additional information.

The pillars of GNH include CONSERVATION of ENVIRONMENT, PRESERVATION AND PROMOTION OF CULTURE, and GOOD GOVERNANCE.

How happy are you??
Be grateful for where we are and what we have!!

Home is so important. A good environment for young children was the attraction which brought us all to the Lake Tahoe area.
