Beautiful, beautiful BLUE. Always there are ongoing efforts to maintain the quality of Lake Tahoe. A home by the water is a gift for those who can manage it. There are some homes not directly on the water, but which provide good views, some even breathaking. Summers at the lake bring opportunities for long kayak trips along the shore; stop to picnic at one of the parks. Are you strong enough and patient to kayak all the way to Emerald Bay?
Several marinas offer parking for your boat; early mornings the lake is often very flat and ideal for a spin around the lake on waterskis or wakeboard.
Great retaurants around the shore are prepping for the summer crowd. Don't forget lunch on the deck at Sunnyside, or for the more exclusive, the West Shore Cafe has a fabulous menu. Garwoods, up past Tahoe City has the best drinks,(wet woodie heaven), and a fine deck overlooking the Lake.
Evening dining is another story, probably featuring Wolfdales as a most outstanding choice for Tahoe City; Moody's Bistro in Truckee is creative, has good food, and jazz weekends.
